Hey, friends and neighbors. I’m Carlton Walker — Lifelong Local. Veteran. Conservative. Committed to the Islands.
- I have stories and memories from every corner of these islands. From fishing and boating in the creeks of Johns Island to family cookouts and oyster roasts on James Island — I’ve been sailing from James Island since I was five years old—schooling from Stiles Point Elementary, Nativity Catholic School, James Island High School and even being sent to Camden Military Academy because I had too much fun on these islands in high school—lol.
- I’ve paddled out for surfing dawn patrol on Folly Beach and there is nothing like the calm waves and the sunrise of dawn patrol, worked as the maintenance man at Folly Beach County Park and helped preserve historic beach homes as maintenance man through Fred Holland Realty.
- The peace and reflection I found at Camp St. Christopher on Seabrook Island shaped me as a child the few summers there just as much as my time serving our country. After my military service, I returned home, working as a busboy and DJ at Bohicket Marina while attending the College of Charleston. On Kiawah Island, I even landed my first role in a movie alongside Matt Damon and Will Smith while at the CofC as a Theatre Major in set design and screenwriting.
Fighting for Our Future.
- But right now, we face real challenges — runaway development, traffic that gets worse by the day, threats to our marshes, waterways, and coastline. If we don't act now, we risk losing the very things that make this place home.
- I believe in responsible growth, not reckless sprawl. And I believe we can protect our environment without sacrificing common sense or our conservative values.
- I believe parents — not bureaucrats, not woke politicians, and certainly not rogue family court judges — should decide what’s best for their children. Families deserve respect, not interference. I will fight to restore parental rights and put decision-making power back where it belongs: in the hands of parents.
- These islands — their marshes, beaches, waterways, and communities — aren’t just places on a map to me. They’re woven into the very fabric of who I am. Now, as a residential builder and real estate broker, I’m committed to preserving the beauty, spirit, and traditions of these islands for future generations. I’ve seen what unrestrained development and weak leadership can do — and I’m running to ensure our islands stay special for the families who live here today, and those still to come.
- As your representative, I will stand guard for our roads, our rights, and our rivers. I will bring the same dedication and discipline I learned in uniform to the State House — to fight for our families, preserve our islands, and keep the Lowcountry strong!
- Together, we can protect what matters most. I humbly ask for your support.
